PeopleFun Platform Tech
Description
PeopleFun’s Platform Tech product is a collection of client packages and backend services covering core infrastructure for a AAA mobile studio’s entire portfolio. Major features include networking, identity, analytics, ads, storage, consent, remote config, experiments, segmentation, cross-promo, iap verification, and more.
I was proud to work with this team for over three years, moving from a contract based position to full time employment.
Contributions
Core Engineering (C#, Typescript, Go, Python, Java, Obj-C, Kotlin, etc…)
- Engineering business critical solutions for the studios entire portfolio averaging 5m DAU, 19m MAU, and over $250m in revenue a year.
- Champion for quality with automated test solutions and data driven validation, resulting in an average of less than 1 bug report a month across all teams.
- Working full stack to optimally implement entire new features from A-Z with minimal support.
AI (Github Copilot, Claude Code, Google Gemini 3, Claude Opus 4.6, etc…)
- Pioneer in AI for the entire studio. As an early adopter I evangelized strategies (prompt engineering, automated test writing, AI pairing, plan oriented approach, etc…) to increase individual output by 300% to 500%.
- Developed custom skills and agents for repositories that freed up engineers to spend more time being thoughtful about architecture and reviewing code, and less time writing boilerplate and updating tickets.
- Designed and deployed a custom AI code review pipeline across the studio’s repositories, cutting code review costs by over 90% while maintaining quality parity.
Data (Google Big Query, SQL)
- Worked closely with the Platform Data team to engineer data-driven solutions for the entire portfolio.
- Helped lead a cross-team effort that reduced duplicated analytics events by 99%, strengthening data trust and unlocking more aggressive UA investment.
Production
- Championing workflows that freed up engineers to spend less time in meetings, reducing the average time engineers spent in meetings from 20% of their week to 5% of their week.
- Streamlined communication channels to reduce noise and overhead while maintaining alignment and transparency across teams.
- Led the transition from sprint-based planning to a kanban workflow, reducing planning overhead and increasing delivery velocity while maintaining business alignment.
